Too much to ask for?

Since five years, my laptop is powered by Linux like all our servers. First it was just another bootable partition side by side with MS Windows then when the virtualization technology became good enough, Windows moved into a virtual machine.

I keep Windows for only two reasons but they are critical for our business:

• AppShore offering must work on the most common browsers so we repeatedly test it on IE7/8 (the painful IE6 was dropped few months ago), Safari, Firefox, Opera and Chrome.
• Two of our online service providers (bank and accounting) support only IE or Firefox running under MS Windows and block access from whatever else.

Considering that lot of small online service providers like us make the non negligible effort to support their customers with their own tools we could expect the same from large companies.

Is it too much to ask for?
